In these work-from-home times, having an inviting desk setup and workspace is all the more important for maximum productivity at home. I finally decided to invest more money and effort into creating my dream mid-century modern style home office and have absolutely loved how it all came together!

Mid-Century Modern Desk
I envisioned my office to have primarily a minimal and neutral palette with black and white, and a pop of warmth. I considered many other desk options, but decided to splurge on this West Elm Mid-Century Desk in the color Acorn. It’s been one of my all-time favorite purchases from West Elm and I’ve found it to be a worthy investment to pull the whole office look together.
It’s always difficult to find reviews on West Elm products, so if you want to know more details, read my review on this West Elm desk!
Desk Setup
Getting a 27-inch monitor was a complete game-changer and it’s been helpful to have multiple programs up on the screen at once. I really like the modern sleek look of the base of this LG monitor! Other than that, I use an Apple Magic Keyboard and an ergonomic mouse, the Logitech MX Master 2S in Light Grey. My desk setup is certainly not as fancy as Tim’s desk setup, but I was pretty proud of it haha.
Minimalist Office Decor
Keeping with the neutral, black and white office look, the floating shelves above the desk showcase a couple of neutral minimalist vases from H&M Home and simple art prints. The shelves and frames are from Ikea, but I also linked similar alternatives below. A pop of greenery also adds some “life” to this space (although these are faux plants heh).
These beige / light tan curtains in the color “natural” give a bit of warmth to the office, paired with my favorite brass curtain rods. This neutral Urban Outfitters rug (Ivory, 5×7 size) adds a subtle pattern and texture on the floor.
Office Chair: TBD
I’m still on the hunt for a comfortable modern office chair, but am currently using one of our dining chairs in the meantime. After sitting in Tim’s ergonomic Herman Miller Embody chair, I feel like my expectations are set very high now and I’m having a hard time deciding on a desk chair (that won’t break the bank).
