Pick an Empty Corner

When I was first brainstorming how to use this corner of my office, I wanted to create a space where our church small group girls could gather to chat without spending a bunch of money on furniture.

We also needed this room to be flexible for our needs since it’s also our guest bedroom aka where our air mattress gets set up.

The solution was throwing together a bunch of floor cushions and pillows, which keeps the space flexible enough to change around, while also maximizing how many people could sit in this area.

Nowadays, I usually drink my morning coffee and do my morning devotionals here, which has been a very peaceful and calming way to start my day!

RUG

A rug will anchor the space and create a soft surface to lounge around on.

I bought the longer runner version of the Target bath mat we have in our bathrooms, specifically to use for this space because it’s seriously the softest thing ever and is super comfortable to sit on. A faux fur rug is another option you can get!

FLOOR CUSHIONS

Floor cushions are an absolute must and I’m so glad I found these faux fur floor pillows while browsing around the children’s section at Target (we don’t even have kids so don’t ask why I was in that area).

We have two of these in our cozy corner and they’re super comfy to sit on.

A plus is that we can easily bring them downstairs for movie nights in our living room when we need some more comfortable lounge seating for guests!

Some other places to look for floor cushions would be Urban Outfitters, World Market, and Wayfair.

PILLOWS ON PILLOWS!

The only other thing you’d need for your cozy corner is a whole bunch of pillows!

To create a layered look, I bought two larger pillows (22″x22″) and used other pillows I already had on hand (18″x18″ and 20″x20″).

My favorite places to shop for throw pillows are Target, Amazon, and H&M Home, which has super affordable pillow covers and pillow inserts).

Getting a few pillows with texture also helps to create a cozy vibe.

This space has basically become my overflow storage space of extra pillows I’ve accumulated (multipurpose!).

Using one lumbar pillow helps to create some more dimension to the space. I’ve been enjoying the Target Hearth and Hand lumbar pillows a lot, and unfortunately, this particular one shown isn’t available anymore, but they have a lot of other cute options!

THROW BLANKET

No cozy corner is complete without a throw blanket as the finishing touch! I personally really like a plush or sherpa blanket for extra coziness.
