As our baby has outgrown his old baby clothes (very quickly!) we’ve needed to find the best organization solutions to store his old baby clothes. In our townhouse, we are always challenged with small space storage issues, but have found a specific storage bin that suits organizing baby clothes by size really well!
In this post, we’re sharing the best storage container for baby clothes that we use for small spaces, that fit in our Ikea PAX closet, under the bed, and really wherever we can find space to store outgrown baby clothes!

Organizing Baby Clothes: Storage Ideas for Small Spaces
BEST STORAGE CONTAINERS FOR BABY CLOTHES
We’ve been using these storage containers from Amazon to organize baby clothes by size and have loved them and have even re-purchased a few times already! When looking for the best storage containers, I only considered bins with proper latches for the lid, which just makes it so much more secure when stored.
We get the pack of 6 in the 18 quart size bins and like to have extra on hand whenever our baby outgrows his old clothes. We have found that using smaller bins suit organizing baby clothes really well because of how small baby clothes are. These storage bins also come in larger sizes as well if needed!

STORAGE BINS FOR SMALL SPACES
A reason why we use smaller bin sizes (we like the 18 quart size) is because we live in a townhouse and are very limited on storage space. Using large bins gets tricky when it comes to storing because we don’t have extra room in the garage and our closets are not that big either. The 18 quart size bin can easily stack and are shallow enough to fit under a bed if needed!
BINS FIT IN IKEA PAX CLOSET
These 18 quart bins fit perfectly in our Ikea PAX closet unit (which is 19″ wide and 22″ deep) and can fit 2 bins on each shelf!
LABELING BINS
I label the bins by simply writing the baby size or contents with a sharpie on a piece of paper and sticking it inside the bin. I don’t bother with sticker labels for baby clothes storage at this point because it’s a little too permanent for now and I can easily swap contents around later if needed. (Anything to make life a little easier too!)
